Johnson, Corbett Lead Winners at River Cities; Big Opening Night at Red River Valley Speedway

Ryan Johnson of Karlstad captured the Wissota Street Stock feature Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. John Halvorson of Warren was second and James Meagher of Grand Forks third. Greg Jose of Grand Forks and Chase Boen of Karlstad rounded out the top five. Austin Pierce of Grand Forks prevailed in the NOSA Sprint feature. Chris Ranten of Climax was second, Bob Martin Of East Grand Forks was third with Wade Nygaard of Grand Forks fourth and Nick Omdahl of Grand Forks fifth. Lance Schill is Langdon won the Wissota Midwest Modified feature over Week 1 winner Matt Schow of McIntosh. Jory Berg of Grand Forks was third, Jeff Nelson of Perham fourth and Jamie Dietzler of Larimore fifth. Ryan Corbett of Grand Forks won the NLRA Late Model main event with Dustin Strand of East Grand Forks taking second. Brad Seng of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks drivers Joey Pederson and Tom Corcoran rounded out the top five.


Keep in mind this about River Cities: the track draws fans and drivers from Canada, and right now the non-essential travel ban prohibits those drivers from crossing the border to the US.


Schulz, Johnson and Wilke Win at RRVS

Rick Schulz of Horace topped Rob VanMil of Barnesville for the IMCA Stock Car win. Travis Robertson of Moorhead was third, Todd Heinrich of Fargo fourth. A great field of 20 stock cars was on hand.

Billy Kendall of Brainerd won the IMCA Modified feature over Austin Arneson of Fargo. Casey Arneson of Fargo was third while VanMil was fifth.


Luke Johnson of Moorhead topped Doug Gardner of Glyndon for the IMCA Sport Mod feature win. Austin Veralrud of Moorhead was third.


Brodee Eckerdt of Grand Forks won the IMCA Hobby Stock feature with Alyssa White of Fargo taking second. Tim Shiek of Fargo, Brad Orvedal of Fargo and Tim Gonska of Brainerd Rounded out the top five.


Tye Wilke of Detroit Lakes won the INEX Legend feature. Brody Carlsrud of Moorhead was second, Ryan Braseth of Ulen third, Alex Braseth of Ulen was fourth and Sean Johnson of Kindred fifth.

Jack Berger of Lake Elmo, MN won the Northern Renegade Non-Wing Sprint Car feature.



Friday Notes

Todd Carter of Lisbon topped his nephew Jonny Carter for the Wissota Street Stock win at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan. Todd and Jonny each have three wins this season.

Kasey Ussatis of Nome won the Wissota Street Stock feature on Friday night at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen. Veteran Royce Jawaski of Horace was third. Ussatis, whose car is pictured above has finished third, second and first in his last three features. Jamestown driver Kyle Anderson recorded another top five finish, taking fourth. Cody Lee of Alexandria won the Wissota Midwest Modified Feature at BCS. Lucas Rodin of Marion, ND was second.
