Miller enjoying 'really competitive' Wissota Street Stock division

Tony Miller spent many years racing enduros, and was attending the races at Casino Speedway on a regular basis when a suggestion was made.
“I was down here watching the races with Ron Anderson and he said, ‘you come here all the time, you might well have a car,’” Miller said. “We found a car for me, and I’ve been coming ever since.”
Miller, from Browns Valley, Minn. (located in western Minnesota on the MN/South Dakota border), is in his sixth year in the Wissota Street Stock class. He races weekly at Casino Speedway in Watertown and also ran several times at I-94 EMR Speedway in Fergus Falls last year.
He also ran the Dirt Race Central Street Stock Tour for the first time in 2025 and finished in the top 10 in points.
Miller, who owns a welding shop in Browns Valley, started racing enduros at age 14, and raced in those up until two years ago. He’s the organizer of the enduro races in Browns Valley each summer.
“I couldn’t focus on two cars, I had to get rid of one,” Miller said with a smile.
He chose the Wissota Street Stock class over the enduros and is glad he did.
The Wissota Street Stock class is competitive at most tracks and Casino Speedway is no exception. Every year since 2021, he has finished seventh or better in the points, including two fifth-place finishes.
“I like it,” Miller said. “It’s really competitive.”
Over the past two years, Miller has raced more, including running the Dirt Race Central Street Stock Tour for the first time in 2025.
“I was hoping for the top 10 and I got eighth. I was happy,” Miller said. “Everything went pretty well. I got to know a lot of people, especially when you travel on the tour.
The street stocks have a lot of people that help each other.”

He admits the tour gave him an education on racing on more dry-slick tracks, especially in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Over the past two seasons, more time behind the wheel has paid dividends with good results. He’s recorded 10 top five finishes over the past two years. He credits “seat time, good parts, and tire work,” for that improvement.
His family, which includes wife Lacey and children Daxtin and Dasani, got to travel to many of the tour stops and is involved with his racing. In fact, Miller is building a pure stock for Daxtin to race at Madison Speedway this summer.
“I like it when it’s a family deal and we all can go,” Miller said.
His plans at this point are to go to the 2026 DRC Street Stock Tour opener this Friday at I-94 EMR Speedway. He’s debating about following the tour again but said that will depend on diesel prices, which is a concern of many in racing.
Another option, Miller said, is to race every week at Casino and perhaps chase the points there.
He’d like to break through and get his first feature win of his street stock career for the summer.
“I am hoping to get a feature win this year,” Miller said.
