I-94 Speedway Has Full Summer Slate Scheduled

tombergie01

Kyle Dykhoff won the King of the Dirt in the street stocks in 2019.

There is a plenty to choose from for dirt-racing fans this summer at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls with 20 nights on the schedule, in addition to the season-ending Wissota 100. The schedule (like all tracks and events) could be impacted by what’s currently happening with the Coronavirus and restrictions — we obviously don’t know what the coming weeks hold. As of now, with all track schedules and season previews, I will proceed as if all things are normal as scheduled until we hear differently. The schedule is still tentative and is subject to change. There is an opening doubleheader scheduled for May 1 and 2 at I-94 Speedway. Several specials are planned for the summer at the 3/8-mile dirt oval. The first is set for May 29 when the Advantage RV Modified Tour makes a stop at I-94. Shane Sabraski, the eventual series champion, won that even in impressive fashion. The Steffes Wissota Street Stock Tour, in its first season, will be at I-94 on June 5. That tour has a chance to provide a huge boost to Wissota Street Stock racing. The King of the Dirt will be broken in two nights once again this year. The first is June 19, with the late models, street stocks and limited late models crowning their kings that night. That is also a Wissota Late Model Challenge Series race and should draw a great field. The second night is June 26 with the modified, midwest modified and short tracker divisions being crowned. The 3rd annual Bob Gierke Memorial special will be held on July 17 with the modifieds and midwest modifieds taking center stage. This will be the first year I-94 will host that event. A Wissota Super Stock special is set for Aug. 7. The super stocks will race later in the year at the Wissota 100. The Northern Vintage Stock Cars will be at I-94 on July 31 with only $5 for admission. The second annual Dick Johanneck Memorial Late Model special, which had excellent car counts last year, is set for Aug. 14. There are 20 nights scheduled at I-94, plus the Wissota 100.
